Pitt Law Named Among Top Law Schools for Tax Law by National Jurist

The National Jurist has recognized the University of Pittsburgh School of Law as one of the nation’s Top Law Schools for Tax Law, highlighting the program’s strength in experiential learning, advocacy, and policy engagement.

In 2025, Pitt Law’s Low Income Taxpayer Clinic expanded its reach through advocacy, outreach, and policy engagement, including a partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue to assist with the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program. Students also participated in Tax Court Pro Bono Day at the Federal Building, representing taxpayers before the U.S. Tax Court.

The Clinic’s impact extended to the national stage as teams competed in the National Tax Moot Court Competition at Stetson University College of Law. They also submitted three formal comment letters to the Internal Revenue Service on proposed regulations related to information collection, automatic enrollment under Section 414A, and practice standards for tax professionals.

The National Jurist’s 2025 Tax Law Honor Roll recognizes programs nationwide that demonstrate exceptional opportunities for students to engage with tax law through clinics, courses, and advocacy.
