Stephanie Dangel

Professor of Practice, Director, Sports, Entertainment, and Arts Law Online Certificate Program
Professor Dangel directs the Pitt Law’s Online Sports, Entertainment, and Arts Law (SEAL) Certificate Program and teaches courses on sports, entertainment, and art law; social innovation; and the commercialization of new technologies. While at Pitt Law, she has published articles and delivered presentations on preparing legal professionals for 21st-century careers. She also co-directs a series of Start Smart Law seminars and workshops for law students and entrepreneurs from the University of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Mellon University, and the greater Pittsburgh community. 
 
Prior to joining Pitt Law, Professor Dangel enjoyed successful careers as a documentary filmmaker, a nonprofit entertainment executive, a K&L Gates law firm associate, and a law clerk for U.S. Supreme Court Justice Harry Blackmun and Judge Pierre Leval of the Southern District of New York. Professor Dangel has degrees from Yale Law School, the University of Pennsylvania, and Oxford University, where she was a Rhodes Scholar.
