About the Pitt Law Legal Clinics

The Hickton Center for Community Legal Services, also known as the Pitt Law Legal Clinics, provides free civil legal services to the community while training law students through hands-on experience.

Student attorneys, supervised by licensed faculty, represent clients as part of their legal education. Because our clinics follow the academic calendar, availability may vary by term.

We prioritize serving those who cannot afford private counsel. All requests are reviewed to ensure they align with our educational mission and resources.

Clinic capacity depends on the academic calendar and the availability of student attorneys. We typically accept new cases in the fall and spring semesters. If we’ve reached our case limit, you may be placed on a waitlist or referred elsewhere.
