Understanding Public Health Emergency Law in the Era of COVID-19
Fri., July 24 | Noon-1:15 PM EST
Presented by Professor Tina Batra Hershey
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, it is critical to understand the legal basis for response actions taken by federal, state, tribal, and local governments. This webinar will describe the role of law in emergency preparedness and response as well as the powers and limits the US Constitution grants to public health authorities with respect to disease control and prevention. We will discuss the need to balance individual rights with the public’s health and explore emerging issues in legal preparedness.
This program has been approved by PACLE for one credit of continuing legal education.
