Career Services

The Professional Development Office (PDO) provides a comprehensive range of services, programs, and services focusing on career exploration and decision-making, professional development, experiential learning, and employment assistance to meet today’s evolving workplace. Services for law alumni include:

  • Career counseling and one-on-one assistance with resume writing, interviewing techniques, interpersonal skills, and job search strategies
  • Job postings for alumni online via PittLawWorks. Alumni may request access by sending an email to pdo@pitt.edu
  • Alumni Mentorship Program that connects students and recent graduates with alumni to offer advice on job search, networking skills, and sharing personal experiences in transitioning from law student to lawyer.
  • Reciprocity for alumni to access another law school's career services office when they intend to relocate to another city or state. Contact pdo@pitt.edu for more.
  • Alumni are encouraged to attend one of our events as a way to re-engage with and meet law alumni.

Job Postings

PittLawWorks contains numerous resources and job postings for attorneys in PA and nationwide. To activate an account, email the following information to PDO@pitt.edu: full name, name at the time of graduation (if different), graduation year, and email address you want to use to log into the account. 

Alumni Intercollegiate Job Bank

Pitt Law participates in the alumni Intercollegiate Job Bank maintained by Brigham Young University Law School. The Job Bank contains alumni job postings from many law schools nationwide. To receive the username and password to view the postings in the Job Bank, contact the PDO with your name and graduation year at 412-648-1411 or pdo@pitt.edu
