Course Description

This course will examine terrorism legislation in the domestic, regional, and international arenas. Topics covered will include philosophical underpinnings of modern terrorism legislation, competing ideologies of domestic, regional and international responses to terrorism, legislative drafting techniques, the indirect legal impact of terrorism legislation, and a comparative analysis of several domestic terrorism laws, among others. Skills used in drafting, interpreting, and applying legislative documents will be developed through classroom drafting and presentation exercises.
