Bruce I. Kogan

Biography

Professor Bruce I. Kogan has been teaching Federal Income Taxation, Wills & Trusts, and Professional Responsibility courses as a Visiting Professor at Widener University Commonwealth Law School in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, after retiring from a long teaching career at Roger Williams University School of Law in Rhode Island.  Professor Kogan taught at Penn State-Dickinson, Villanova, and Widener University’s Delaware Law School before moving to Rhode Island to help start the law school at Roger Williams University in 1993 where he has served stints as both the Associate Dean and the Dean.  He previously practiced with the U.S. Department of Justice Tax Division and with a Harrisburg, Pennsylvania law firm.

Professor Kogan received his B.A. from Syracuse University; a J.D. cum laude from Penn State University’s Dickinson School of Law; an LL.M. from Georgetown University Law Center; and an honorary Doctor of Law from Roger Williams University. Professor Kogan’s recent legal scholarship has focused on regulatory takings and on professional responsibility and discipline for lawyers in family and divorce practice.
