Student Mentor

Each incoming student is matched with a faculty mentor with expertise in an area in which the student has expressed interest. Workshops and information sessions provide opportunities to learn about the experiences of practicing lawyers.

Pitt Law full-time faculty members serve as faculty mentors, counseling students on planning their academic and professional careers. Each incoming student is matched with a faculty mentor with expertise in an area in which the student has expressed interest.

Curricular planning workshops in the spring offer first-year students information and advice on mapping their upper-level courses and activities, the opportunity to learn about the paths and experiences of practicing lawyers in several practice areas and settings, and an informal setting for meeting full-time and adjunct faculty teaching in their areas of interest.

Several information sessions and workshops throughout the year introduce students to the academic programs and opportunities available at Pitt Law, including joint degree programs, certificate programs, externships (both local and international), clinical programs, and more.
