Pitt law professor Philip Hackney appeared on CNN this afternoon with Briana Keiler to discuss new New York Times reporting on President Trump’s $287 million in debt forgiveness starting in 2010. He focused on how banks might forgive such amounts, what the tax consequences of this arrangement should be, and what we can conclude about the President’s business acumen as a result.
