Pitt Announces Peggie Miller Dunklin (HR LAW '20) Memorial Fund

University of Pittsburgh School of Law graduate (Margaret) Peggie Miller Dunklin passed away peacefully on Dec. 7, 2021. Peggie graduated from Pitt in 1988 with a Bachelors degree in Communications and earned her Human Resources Law Online Graduate Certificate in 2020. She worked for the University of Pittsburgh for 33 years in various jobs and leadership roles.

To honor Peggie, we are pleased to announce the creation of the Peggie Miller Dunklin Memorial Fund with the goal of raising a minimum of $25,000 before Feb. 21, 2022. Reaching that goal will ensure that annually, in perpetuity, at least two students with financial need from the Pittsburgh area will receive a $500 book award. Any amount over the $25,000 will be used to create additional book awards.

Make a gift by visiting EngagePittTM. One hundred percent of each contribution is given directly to the endowment; no processing or credit card fees will be deducted from your donation.

Peggie spent her entire life as a "Pittsburgher," serving Pitt for 33 years in various jobs and leadership roles, with the last nine years as Director of Budget and Human Resources for the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid (OAFA). Pitt achieved unprecedented undergraduate enrollment success during her tenure. The OAFA team credits that success in part on Peggie's extraordinary work to support the University's enrollment goals. Blue and gold were part of her soul...right to the very end, Peggie cheered for Pitt, with everyone holding hands and singing Sweet Caroline before she passed. Read more about Peggie’s legacy here.

Whether you can give financially or not, please consider spreading the word by sharing the link -- https://engage.pitt.edu/project/29715. The campaign will end on Feb. 21, 2022.
